The GEECT Leadership Symposium is calling on visionary leaders, educators, and administrators of film schools to share their insights and innovative approaches to navigating the complexities of leadership during times of conflict. As our institutions face mounting pressures—from global crises to local disruptions—this symposium aims to ignite reflection, inspire dialogue, and foster collaboration across the community.
A Deep Dive into Leadership and Conflict
This year’s theme will explore the multifaceted nature of conflict through three critical lenses:
- Political Perspective: How do political instability, policy shifts, and societal changes shape leadership and institutional resilience?
- Economic Perspective: What strategies can help overcome financial uncertainty, resource challenges, and funding constraints?
- Technological Perspective: How can leaders harness the transformative power of rapid technological change while maintaining stability and purpose?
From headline-grabbing global issues to subtle, internal tensions, the symposium seeks to uncover the full spectrum of conflicts and their impacts on our institutions.
Our Shared Mission
At its core, this symposium aims to empower GEECT members with actionable strategies and fresh perspectives to:
- Reflect on personal and institutional approaches to conflict.
- Adapt to external pressures through innovative, systemic solutions.
- Collaborate on building networks of support, resilience, and innovation.
By sharing experiences and collectively addressing challenges, we hope to strengthen leadership within film schools and forge a resilient future together.
